Brent and Anika Chrishon helped organize and implement the 2010 (7 Days of Creation) Vacation Bible School program at First Prattville Seventh-day Adventist Church in Prattville, Alabama. This was the church's first VBS program in over 10 years! Invitations were printed and personally shared with children in several neighborhoods near the church. Announcements were also made during weekly church services, where a handful of young people come out each week. These numbers were reflected in the number of children who showed up Monday morning for the first day of VBS. The VBS program began with 5 children in attendance. However, by the grace of God, almost 25 children showed up for days two through five of VBS and all children were present with a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle during the Saturday morning Parent Program!
Where did all these children come from? The Lord sent them. The VBS team began soliciting the prayers of the church members when only a few children showed up for opening day, and the Lord began moving upon the hearts of parents and children getting them ready to respond to the invitation to attend the remaining days of VBS. The Lord also moved upon the heart of Mrs. Anita McGhee, affectionately called Mama McGhee. She went out and personally invited more children and offered them a ride to VBS. In addition to providing transportation, Mama McGhee also prepared and served delicious and healthy lunches for everybody after VBS each day.
